Our website preview engine, rebuilt from the ground up
We completely rebuilt the technology that loads websites inside Lucidly, so sites load faster and work like the real thing.
The problem
The engine that loads your website inside Lucidly is the heart of the product. As modern sites grew more complex, with heavy JavaScript, React and Framer builds, lazy-loaded images, tabs, and interactive components, the old engine struggled. Some pages loaded slowly, some features on the page didn’t work, and fixing one site sometimes broke another. It was also hard for us to maintain.
What’s better now
We rewrote the preview engine from scratch and restructured it as its own dedicated service. Your site now runs in Lucidly almost exactly as it does in a normal browser:
- Pages load faster, and recently viewed sites open almost instantly
- Interactive elements like Webflow tabs work while you browse
- Images that normally load on scroll show up right away
- Clicking links keeps you inside your project
For you, that means more accurate reviews with fewer “it looks different in Lucidly” moments. For us, it means a simpler system we can improve much faster. It’s one of the biggest upgrades we’ve made to Lucidly.
